Helping to Conserve and Preserve the Wonder of the World:
Our Commitment to Environmental Conservation and Responsible Travel
Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”
-- Gustave Flaubert

The Wonder of the World is about learning to discover, experience, and cherish all the good our planet has to offer, but it is also about doing good for our planet in return.
When you join us on a Wonder of the World journey, lecture, or seminar, you will cultivate a deeper appreciation for the richness, diversity, and beauty of our planet. You'll discover for yourself why the greatest artistic and natural treasures deserve our admiration and protection, and you'll know that you've made a positive impact on preserving them for future generations.
That's because each and every one of our journeys and seminars raises awareness and funds in support of a companion cause --from threatened and endangered species conservation, to historical preservation, to art restoration, to our own Janet Dunne Memorial Scholarship Fund. We partner with established and trusted conservation groups, charities, and cultural foundations to ensure the most profound impact on every one of our ventures. We also strive to empower others with ways to make more environmentally-friendly choices on their journeys and beyond.
Become a responsible traveler, not just a tourist. Join our tribe of "Wonderers," who share their passion for The Wonder of the World -- and its conservation-- with others.

. The Wonder of the World also shows its environmental commitment in the following ways:
--We offer journeys and seminars at environmentally-conscious venues, and actively search for partners who share our environmental commitment.
--We prioritize plant-based meals (organic when possible) at our programs, and encourage sustainable eating choices.
--Because we believe wild animals belong in the wild, we do not participate in any captive animal performances, interactions, or experiences, or touch, interfere with, or disturb animals in their habitats. We educate participants about the profound impact of such practices on animals and their environments, and actively encourage our participants to support wildlife conservation efforts.
--We teach and maintain very firm rules for viewing wildlife in their natural habitats, ensuring that neither animals nor ecosystems are negatively affected by our presence.
-- We offset the carbon emissions produced by our travel, for both teachers and participants, with programs that benefit both the environment and local communities.
--We use green business cards that are made of 100% post-consumer recycled fiber and are chlorine free.
--We make use of electronic mailings and materials as often as possible.
--We encourage walking, biking, and public transportation on our journeys.
