The Wonder of the World

The Wonder of Creativity: How to Find Your Genius
A Full-day Retreat To Benefit the Janet Dunne Memorial Scholarship Fund

If children grew up according to early indications, we should have nothing but geniuses." ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Everyone is creative.  And yet a persistent myth of our culture is that creativity is restricted to the privileged few, to those geniuses born with greater artistic gifts.  As a professor at a business university, I was routinely told by my students that they simply were not creative.  And yet with encouragement and strategies designed to re-ignite  the creativity that had often been dormant for years, my business students often produced stunningly original ideas. The same breakthroughs are possible for you, no matter how creative -- or uncreative -- you might initially feel.  You can find your own genius.

In this seminar, we will explore
the true nature of creativity -- what it is, how it works, why it's universal, and what tends to happen to it after childhood if we do not continue to nourish it.   You will discover that creativity is integral not only to the arts, but to every field of human endeavor, and learn ways for it to help you, regardless of your profession or aspirations. You will begin to experience how everyone can tap into this natural force for problem solving, and to generate innovative ideas, solutions, and new ways of looking at things.  As you begin to see the world with fresh eyes, you will build confidence in your own unique perspective.  Ultimately, creativity isn't just about producing work, but rather about cultivating one's own genius and learning to trust it as it guides you to create an authentic life.  It's about living as only you can, in the most original way, free from conditioning, cliches and stereotypes, and limiting expectations and assumptions.  Join us to discover the Wonder of Creativity, and unleash the power of your own genius!
Creativity takes courage." -- Henri Matisse
