The Wonder of the World

Book Your Journey

Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully: by registering with your deposit for a Wonder of the World seminar or journey you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Deposits and Full Registration Fees
Deposits for all journeys are non-refundable.  Once you have made a deposit, the remainder of the registration fee must be paid in full by credit card or Paypal by the date specified.  The Wonder of the World is not responsible for cancelling a reservation if final payment is not made by this date.

Refund and Voucher Policy

By making your deposit and securing your place, you agree to participate in a Wonder of the World journey and to attend the journey on the dates specified.  We highly recommend purchasing a travel insurance policy, as soon as possible after registering for a Wonder of the World journey or seminar, that includes coverage for lost baggage, missed connections, delayed and cancelled flights, medical and dental emergencies and trip cancellation should any eventuality prevent you from participating in the journey you've purchased.  If you must cancel for some other reason than those allowed by your travel insurance, and you have already paid for your journey in full, part of the remainder of your registration fee may be transferable to a future Wonder of the World journey of your choice less the following cancellation fees:

Cancellation in writing more than 91 days in advance of the journey: $200 cancellation fee.  The remainder of the registration fee is transferable.
Cancellation in writing 90-61 days before journey: 50% cancellation fee; remainder of the registration fee is transferable.
Cancellation under 60 days: no portion of the registration fee is transferable.
Vouchers are good for one year from the date of the original journey.

There are no partial or full refunds of any part of the deposit or full registration fee once a journey or seminar has begun, or after the conclusion of a journey or seminar.

Limitation of Liability
Program participants acknowledge that travel involves inherent risks.  The Wonder of the World, its parent company QuestionExploreCreate, and Jennifer Carol Cook, Ph.D., accept no responsibility for any personal injuries, accidents, assaults, or deaths of program participants while traveling to and from the program destination, or for the duration of a Wonder of the World seminar or journey.  The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook shall not be held liable or accountable for the loss, theft, or damage of the personal possessions or property of program participants, nor for any additional expenses incurred by participants, legal charges or entanglements domestically or internationally, nor for inclement weather, acts of nature, delays in air travel or other transportation, nor any strikes, quarantines, sicknesses, violence, animal or wildlife attacks, wars, conflicts, natural disasters or acts of terrorism.  The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook shall under no circumstances, be liable to any participant for indirect, consequential, incidental, punitive, or special damages.

Cancellation Policy

The Wonder of the World reserves the right to cancel any journey for any reason, including insufficient demand.  In the eventuality that any journey or seminar is cancelled by Jennifer Carol Cook, The Wonder of the World will issue participants a full refund of the registration fee.

Accommodation and Other Services
The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook, Ph.D., assume no responsibility or liability for the services provided by air carriers, hotels and other accommodation providers, tour operators or any other suppliers, all of whom operate as independent contractors and who are not affiliates, joint ventures, employees, or agents of The Wonder of the World.  Any grievances will need to be addressed directly to the provider of that service. Should it be necessary to make changes to the itinerary or daily schedule, faculty, accommodations, venues, tours, or any other part of a journey for any reason, such changes may be made by Jennifer Carol Cook and The Wonder of the World  without liability to her or the organization.

Air, Land, and Sea Travel
Air travel is solely the participant's responsibility, and The Wonder of the World assumes no responsibility for cancellations, delays, lost baggage, or other incidents related to air or ground transportation.  If a flight or any method of land or sea travel is delayed, re-routed, or cancelled, it is the participant's responsibility to work directly with the airline or other carrier to rectify the situation.  The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook assume no responsibility for costs incurred by the participant due to missed, cancelled, or delayed flights, or for any means of land or sea transportation used to reach one of our journeys.

Travel Documents, Regulations, and Immunizations
Participants are responsible for obtaining passports, visas, and any other necessary travel documents and immunizations.  Details about country-specific requirements will be sent as part of the information packet participants receive when they register for a journey.  The Wonder of theWorld and Jennifer Cook accept no responsibility of liability in the case of an expired or rejected passport, inadequate visas, or with the consequences associated with failure to obtain recommended immunizations.  The Wonder of the World will not be held accountable should any participant be refused entry or detained in a foreign nation for any reason, and it is the participant's sole responsibility to obtain his or own legal counsel should such an event occur.

Participation
Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or legal guardian.  If a child will be traveling with only one of his or her parents or guardians, we recommend that a notarized letter be written by the parent who will not be traveling with the child authorizing the trip out of the country.  Please also consult with the appropriate airlines and country consulates for additional recommendations or requirements to be sure you comply with measures to prevent international child abductions.

For the benefit of everyone on the journey and the integrity of the journey itself, The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook reserves the right to decline the reservation of any participant, or to ask for his or her withdrawal or removal from the journey at Dr. Cook's sole discretion. There shall be no refunds for any part of the journey, or for any additional costs to the participant, if he or she is asked to leave the journey for behavior deemed unacceptable or incompatible with the interests of The Wonder of the World and the other journey participants.

Smoking and Other Regulations
Please note that no smoking is allowed in any accommodations or venues used on The Wonder of the World seminars and journeys.  Illicit substances are also strictly prohibited, and participants should note that they will be subject to the laws of the foreign country in which the journey takes place, which may have stricter penalties for drug violation than the United States.  The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook assumes no responsibility or liability for the consequences of such infringements, legal or financial.  Participants must be of age to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages, and are asked to drink moderately and responsibly.  The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook shall not be responsible for any accidents or altercations that may occur under the influence of alcohol.

Language
Journeys are conducted in English, except when specified and when use of a native language enriches the cultural learning components of our journeys.

Closures
The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook will make every attempt to notify participants of local amenities, activities, and points of interest, and the best times to visit.  However, during certain seasons and days of the week, religious or national holidays, or due to sudden changes out of our control, certain sites and amenities may be closed or have limited availability.  The Wonder of the World shall not be held responsible for any such closures for any reason.

Travelers Who Need Special Assistance
The Wonder of the World intends its seminars and journeys for the enjoyment and benefit of all, and will make every reasonable effort to accommodate  the special needs of disabled participants. We regret that such accommodations are not always possible on every journey. The Wonder of the World and Jennifer Carol Cook is not responsible at those times and at those locations when we are not able to accommodate guests with special needs.  Any participant who requires assistance should have a physically able and qualified travel companion with him or her on the journey, provided the journey and its amenities has been deemed suitable for disabled participants. Neither the Wonder of the World nor Jennifer Carol Cook will be able to provide individual assistance to such participants, nor are we responsible if any other supplier or service provider refuses service or assistance.   Please also note that  not every accommodation or site of interest abroad is accessible to the disabled; bus and train stations in particular are not outfitted appropriately for wheelchair access, and many foreign countries do not have laws that mandate facilities or access for the disabled in public places.  The Americans with Disability Act operates only within the borders of the United States, and is not applicable abroad.
